Analogy e metaphor in architecture design
Abstract
The act of designing in architecture is a complex process.
Metaphor and analogy are methods use in design for drawing new creative
concepts، and give reasoning for design decisions through design
process. These methods، also، may add to the users’ experience (visual،
emotional and cognitive meanings).
Students when probed for a reasons explain their actions، are either unable to answer questions، or provide explanations that are not true descriptions of their actions This research compares metaphor and analogy methods in the design process، with a focus on Architectural education.
The research found out the differences between metaphor and analogy in architectural design. Also, pointed out the challenges that might face students through design process.
